On March 22, we learned from the China Photovoltaic Industry Association that China's photovoltaic industry continues to show a strong momentum of development in 2023, not only the scale of the industry continues to expand, but also the output of the main manufacturing links has achieved significant growth. According to the latest statistics, the output of polysilicon, silicon wafers, batteries, modules and other major manufacturing links increased by more than 64% year-on-year, and the total output value of the industry broke through the 1.75 trillion yuan mark, which not only highlights the strong strength of China's photovoltaic industry, but also indicates that its leading position in the global photovoltaic market is further stable.

In terms of new installed capacity, the new installed capacity of photovoltaic in 2023 reached an astonishing 216.88 GW, an increase of 148.1%. Behind this achievement, thanks to the pulling effect of the construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic power generation base, the new installed capacity of centralized photovoltaic exceeded 110 GW, accounting for more than 50%, and successfully surpassed distributed photovoltaic, becoming the main force to promote the growth of photovoltaic installed capacity in China.

At the same time, the performance of China's photovoltaic products in the international market is also eye-catching. According to statistics, in 2023, China's silicon wafer exports reached 70.3 GW, an increase of more than 93.6%, showing China's strong competitiveness in the global silicon wafer market. In addition, battery exports also reached 39.3 GW, an increase of 65.5%, and module exports were as high as 211.7 GW, an increase of 37.9%. The growth of these data not only reflects the wide recognition of China's photovoltaic products in the international market, but also further promotes the internationalization process of China's photovoltaic industry.

It is worth mentioning that the rapid development of China's photovoltaic industry has not only driven the development of the related industrial chain, but also made positive contributions to the optimization and sustainable development of China's energy structure. With the continuous progress of photovoltaic technology and the reduction of costs, the application range of photovoltaic industry in the field of energy will also be more and more extensive, injecting new impetus for China's economic and social development.

Looking to the future, with the acceleration of the global energy transition and the continuous growth of clean energy demand, China's photovoltaic industry will usher in broader prospects for development. We look forward to seeing more technological innovation and industrial breakthroughs to promote China's photovoltaic industry to a more prosperous future. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
