On April 24th, Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Nurtellev and British Foreign Minister Cameron held talks in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, and successfully signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at deepening the relationship between the two countries.

The newly signed agreement aims to further strengthen cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UK in multiple key areas, including but not limited to foreign policy and security, trade and investment, energy development, intellectual property protection, environmental protection, and financial services, based on information released on the websites of the President's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Nurtreu stated that the agreement will provide important support for the Kazakhstan UK relationship to reach a new level. And we believe that the strategic partnership between the two countries will be further strengthened in various fields, including energy, rare metals, environment, education, and more. Cameron also agrees with this. He pointed out that the UK attaches great importance to developing cooperation with Kazakhstan and regards it as an important partner in Central Asia. On the same day, President Tokayev of Kazakhstan stated during a meeting with Cameron that his visit is of great significance for further promoting the development of bilateral relations, and the signing of the agreement will lay the foundation for expanding the bilateral cooperation agenda.

During the visit, the two sides also signed multiple cooperation documents in the fields of healthcare and transportation, as well as memorandums of understanding for the establishment of Queen's University of Belfast in Astana and Kazakh language courses at the University of Oxford.
