On the morning of April 8, 2024, the construction site of the Hubei Institute of Automotive Industry North Campus project was bustling with activity. The groundbreaking ceremony of the Meiyuan No. 2 student apartment construction project was grandly held here.

In recent years, Hubei Institute of Automotive Industry has been committed to optimizing campus facilities and improving the learning environment. In the past two years, the college has successfully completed the construction of three buildings in the first phase with a total construction area of approximately 45,000 square meters. The brand-new student apartments, comprehensive college buildings and student cafeteria have been put into use, and have successfully welcomed the first batch of freshmen. In order to better meet the accommodation needs of freshmen, the school decided to start construction of Meiyuan No. 2 student apartment this year. The estimated investment budget for this project is as high as 62.1845 million yuan, with a total construction area of approximately 19,500 square meters. The main building will be built with 6 floors above ground and provide 377 dormitories. The construction of this new apartment will not only provide students with a spacious and comfortable accommodation environment, but will also become a beautiful landscape on the campus.

Zheng Haokai, chief of the Infrastructure Section of the Campus Construction and Management Office of Hubei Institute of Automotive Industry, introduced in detail the construction plan of the Meiyuan No. 2 student apartment. He revealed that the new apartment will be fully completed and put into use in September this year. It will provide students with a one-stop student service center, laundry room, boiling water room, washroom, public toilet and other comprehensive assisted living accommodation. In addition, the project will also support the construction of public works such as power supply and distribution, water supply and drainage, HVAC, fire protection, and outdoor projects such as roads and greening to ensure the convenience and comfort of students' lives.

With the completion of the Meiyuan No. 2 student apartment, the number of students in the north area of the school will increase to more than 4,300, which will inject more vitality into the college's service to local economic development.
