Recently, the new Bianhe River Bridge, a high-profile control project of Sugu Expressway in Anhui province, is under intense construction. According to the project progress plan, the main bridge is expected to be closed in August, followed by full completion and traffic in October. The completion of this important project node marks the key progress made in the construction of Sugu Expressway, which will inject new vitality into the improvement and development of regional transportation network.

Sugu Expressway is located in the territory of Suzhou City and Bengbu City. It starts from the east side of Yanluo Expressway to the east side of Suzhou 3.6km and ends at the Gubang Expressway. The total length of Sugu Expressway is about 44km, with two-way four lanes and a total investment of about 5.5 billion yuan.

Sugu Expressway, as a key bridge of economic and cultural exchange between northern Anhui and northern Jiangsu, is not only an important link of Jining to Hefei Expressway, but also a parallel route of Beijing-Taiwan Expressway, shouldering an important mission of promoting economic development along the route.

The construction of the new Bianhe River Bridge will help promote the regional integration process of Anhui Province and even the whole Yangtze River Delta region. With the continuous improvement of transportation infrastructure, economic ties within the region will be closer and cooperation will be more in-depth, which will help realize resource sharing, complementary advantages, and promote the coordinated development of regional economy.
