Recently, the construction of Shaanxi Fugu Civil Airport, the first county-level airport project in Shaanxi Province, has been fully started, and its 38 working surfaces are in full swing. At present, the two tender sections N1 and N2 have completed a total of 890,000 square meters of original surface clearance, and the total amount of earthwork excavation and filling has reached 8.9 million cubic meters. The project team is working hard and plans to complete the earthwork construction in the pavement area by the end of June this year, with a view to achieving the navigation goal in October 2025.

Shaanxi Fugu Civil Airport is not only one of the 23 new airports built in the 14th Five-Year Plan of China Civil Aviation, but also the first county-level civil 4C regional airport built in Shaanxi Province since the founding of New China. Its design standards meet the take-off and landing requirements of B737, A320 and other series of aircraft, marking a solid step taken by Shaanxi Province in the field of civil aviation.

The project is located in Sangyuanliang Village in the northwest of Fugu County, with a straight-line distance of 9 kilometers from the center of the county and a strategic location. The airport plan includes a runway 2,800 meters long and 45 meters wide, as well as a modern terminal building, 4 boarding gates, 2 corridor bridges, 6 (2B4C) apron aircraft seats and other facilities. The total investment of the project is as high as 1.455 billion yuan, with a main land area of 2,686 acres. It is expected to meet the annual passenger throughput of 450,000 people and the annual cargo and mail throughput of 1,200 tons after completion, injecting new impetus into the economic and social development of Fugu County and surrounding areas.

Liu Yongli, deputy secretary of the Party branch of Shaanxi Fugu Airport Construction Investment Co., Ltd., said that the project volume is large, the flight area spans three large deep trenches, the maximum height difference exceeds 80 meters, equivalent to the height of a 30-story building, and the geological conditions are complex , involving collapsible loess and silt, mixed with weathered rock soil, all of which brought great challenges to construction. However, since the start of construction in June 2023, the project team has overcome numerous difficulties and has completed a cumulative investment of 383 million yuan, demonstrating its tenacious fighting spirit.

Fugu County has long been restricted by traffic bottlenecks. The implementation of this project will effectively improve this situation and improve the comprehensive transportation network in Fugu County and surrounding areas. By then, Yulin City will have three civil airports: Yuyang, Fugu, and Dingbian, forming a more complete air transportation system, which is of great significance to promoting the development of the civil aviation network in the northwest region and the coordinated development of the Shaanxi-Shanxi-Mongolia Yellow River Golden Triangle region .

It is expected that construction tasks such as the flight area pavement and air traffic control navigation projects will be completed in 2025. In the later stage, based on factors such as route approval, passenger flow, operation conditions, urban development, and people's needs, routes will be opened to Xi'an, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other cities to further expand Fugu County's external transportation connections and promote the comprehensive development of the regional economy and society. .Editor/Cheng Liting
