As of April 2024, the construction of the Shandong section of the 14th Five-Year Plan flood control project in the lower reaches of the Yellow River has made remarkable progress. After overcoming the impact of relocation, the construction of the 24 affected river channels has been successfully started, indicating that the construction tasks of 96 river channels in the entire project have been fully launched. At present, 85 main projects have been successfully completed, and the number of dam stacks constructed has reached 1,052. This remarkable achievement fully demonstrates the efficiency and solidity of project construction.

The construction content of the Shandong section of the 14th Five-Year Plan flood control project in the lower reaches of the Yellow River covers river channel engineering, the heightening and width of the North Embankment, and the construction of flood control roads on the top of the embankment. Among them, 96 river projects are the core tasks, mainly focusing on the reconstruction and reinforcement of hazardous works, the reconstruction and reinforcement of control and guidance projects, and the new and continued construction of control and guidance projects. Specifically, this includes the reconstruction and reinforcement of 30 hazardous works, the reconstruction and reinforcement of 38 control and guidance projects, and the new and continued construction of 28 control and guidance projects, involving a total of 1,104 dam stacks.

Since the start of the project on April 8, 2023, the Shandong River Affairs Bureau has made unified arrangements, quickly launched a consultation mechanism on construction land acquisition issues, and implemented a working model of daily ranking, weekly scheduling, and monthly reporting. Faced with the challenges of land acquisition and resettlement for project construction that span multiple regions, involve a wide range of areas, and are difficult to coordinate, various project offices and relocation offices have risen to the challenge and formed a closed-loop management model for land acquisition issues, that is, collection, research, promotion, and cancellation. . Through the strategy of one county, one policy, reversing the construction period, parallel operations, and stubble advancement, it was ensured that 96 river projects were fully started.
