On April 14, 2024, the rotor of Unit 4 of Maerbaffle Hydropower Station was successfully hoisted into place, marking that the unit entered the final sprint of the final assembly stage, laying a solid foundation for the scheduled operation of Unit 4.

The rotor of the Maerblock hydropower station is composed of a central body, a main shaft, a fan frame, a large vertical bar, a magnetic yoke, a magnetic pole, a collector, etc. The outer circle diameter is about 12.8 meters, the maximum height is about 3.08 meters, and the lifting weight is 1050 tons. It is the heaviest lifting component of the hydro-generator set and the most important rotating component of the hydro-generator set. It is used to generate magnetic fields, transform energy and transfer torque. As the core component of the whole turbine generator set, the generator rotor is the most important process in the whole installation process, which requires high precision and difficulty.

With a total installed capacity of 2.32 million kilowatts, Maerblock Hydropower Station is the highest hydropower station in the Yellow River basin with the largest installed capacity under construction, and is also the backbone power point for the national implementation of "West power transmission to the East" and "green power into Henan". According to reports, the Maerblock hydropower station consists of four single-unit capacity of 550,000 kilowatts and one single-unit capacity of 120,000 kilowatts of hydrogenerators, the power station will be put into operation by the end of 2024. After putting into operation, it is expected that the average annual electricity generation will reach 7.304 billion KWH, which can meet the electricity demand of 1.825 million households with an annual electricity consumption of 4,000 degrees, save about 2.2 million tons of standard coal per year, reduce the emission of carbon dioxide by about 8.16 million tons, and reduce the emission of sulfur dioxide by about 30,400 tons.
