The German parliament has approved a bill on the "Solarpaket 1" package of policies, which includes an increase in the feed-in tariff for commercial and industrial (C&I) photovoltaic projects, as well as measures related to the scale of bidding projects for large-scale photovoltaic system auctions.
The German Parliament plans to adopt these measures to support the development of the photovoltaic industry in the country. The bill was passed by 384 votes to 79, with 200 abstentions.
The bill includes significant improvements for commercial and industrial (C&I) PV projects, which will be eligible for a feed-in tariff of €0.015 /kWh($0.016 /kWh) higher than the current tariff.
It will also be easier for home users to install residential PV systems and build energy communities. In addition, this regulation also increases the bidding limit for large-scale photovoltaic projects from 20MW to 50MW.
But it does not include the "flexibility bonus" demanded by some of Germany's coalition parties to support domestic value chains. The proposed bonus includes additional incentives for developers of photovoltaic projects that use photovoltaic modules made in Europe.
As of the end of February this year, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in Germany was about 88.44GW. In 2023, the installed capacity of new PV systems in Germany will be 14.5GW, 7.19GW in 2022, 5.26GW in 2021, 3.94GW in 2019, 2.96GW in 2018 and 1.75GW in 2017. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
