On April 23, 2024, Jilin Chemical Industry Park signed a contract with Guoneng Jilin Thermal Power Co., Ltd. for the "equal capacity replacement" new 2×350MW cogeneration project of Guoneng Jilin Thermal Power Plant. The total planned investment of the project is 2.892 billion yuan. After the completion of the new project, it can effectively ensure the heat supply security of Jilin City and meet the heat load demand of Jilin Chemical's 1.2 million tons of ethylene project.

Guoneng Jilin Thermal Power Plant's "equal capacity replacement" new 2×350MW cogeneration project will be built on the site of the demolished Jilin Thermal Power Plant Units 1 to 7, using the existing supporting public facilities, and building 2 units in an equal capacity replacement manner. Taiwan installed a 350-megawatt supercritical wet-cooled coal-fired cogeneration unit, and later shut down four operating units from No. 8 to No. 11. The project plans to build two 350 MW supercritical, one intermediate reheat, three-cylinder, two exhaust steam, double extraction condensing steam turbines, equipped with two 1170 ton/hour supercritical, one intermediate reheat, all-steel frame suspension structures , tight-fitting closed layout, Π-type transformer operation DC furnace, and simultaneous construction of desulfurization, denitrification, dust removal and ultra-low emission facilities.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Jilin Chemical Industry Park, the planned total investment of the new 2×350MW cogeneration project of the National Energy Jilin Thermal Power Plant’s “equal capacity replacement” is 2.892 billion yuan. After being put into operation, the annual power generation will be 2.972 billion kilowatt-hours, the civil heating area will be 12 million square meters, the maximum designed industrial heat load is 380 tons/hour (1.3MPa), and the annual heat supply will reach 12.75 million GJ. After the completion of the new project, it can effectively ensure the heating security of Jilin City and meet the heat load demand of Jilin Chemical's 1.2 million tons of ethylene project.
