On May 16, 2024, the construction of the high-profile section of Jinxiu Avenue from Shanghai Road to Shandong officially kicked off. The start of this key project means that the last kilometer of Jinxiu Avenue is about to be fully connected, further smoothing the way for citizens to travel.

Jinxiu Avenue, as an important traffic artery in the southern part of Baohe District, is about 17 kilometers long. The section from Shanghai Road to Shandong is the only dead end road. The section under construction this time is about 1.5 kilometers long, starting from Shanghai Road in the west and ending at Shandong Road in the east. It will become an important bridge connecting the two ends. The red line width of the standard section of the road reaches 52 meters, and it is designed to be a two-way six-lane, including two 3.5-meter sidewalks, two 3.5-meter non-motorized lanes, and two 11.5-meter motorized lanes.

It is worth mentioning that the project spans the Shiwuli River and puts forward higher requirements for the protection of the surrounding water environment. At the same time, high-voltage line towers, high-pressure gas pipelines and subway track section protection are also involved along the line, and construction organization and safety measures need to be rigorous and meticulous. To this end, the Hefei Municipal Key Bureau requires all participating units to conduct pipeline surveys in advance, formulate detailed construction organization plans, and protect water sources and pipelines in real time.

After the completion of the project, Jinxiu Avenue will be unobstructed for 17 kilometers from Feicui Road to Chaohu South Road. As an important transportation artery connecting Feixi County, Economic Development Zone, Baohe District and Binhu New District, the completion of this project will greatly reduce the traffic pressure on surrounding roads, improve the travel environment for residents on both sides of the Shiwuli River, and enhance the travel efficiency.

In addition, Jinxiu Avenue serves as an important corridor to showcase the beautiful lakeside scenery and Shiwuli River scenery, as well as a window for Hefei's style and architectural features.
