The port is mainly engaged in coal, ore, petroleum coke and other cargo, serving electric power, chemical, building materials, metallurgy and other enterprises along the hinterland and inland.

According to Huang Xiaogang, Chairman of Nanjing Shenzhen International Port Development Co., LTD., Jingjiang Port of Shenzhen International aims to be green, intelligent, efficient and safe, showing three highlights: First, it has one of the largest bulk cargo ports with the Yangtze River trunk berths, with an annual throughput of over 45 million tons; The second is the highest allocation efficiency of port machinery, using intelligent system to achieve efficient operation; The third is the lowest carbon and environmental protection bulk cargo port along the Yangtze River, with fully enclosed design and environmental protection facilities, and the construction of photovoltaic power stations to create a "green near-zero carbon port".
