On May 27, 2024, the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission announced that it would introduce government and social capital cooperation to jointly promote the construction of the S24 Hangzhou-Hezhou Expressway Wuhu Taishan Road Yangtze River Bridge and connection project, marking that Anhui Province will soon add another important Yangtze River bridge .

The project is located in Jiujiang District of Wuhu City and He County and Dangtu County of Ma'anshan City, with a total length of approximately 31 kilometers. The route starts from Gongqiao Town, He County, Ma'anshan City, connects to the G4231 Ningjiu Expressway via the Gongqiao hub, and then passes through the Shenxiang area of Jiangbei, Jiujiang District, Wuhu City, and crosses the Yuxikou Channel, Chenqiaozhou, and Xihua Waterways. Finally arrived at the south bank of the Yangtze River. The project will continue to be routed along the planned corridor of Taishan Road, enter Dangtu County, Ma'anshan City, and intersect with the G4211 Ningwu Expressway in Niandou Town.

In order to ensure an efficient and convenient transportation network, there are 6 interchanges along the entire line, including 2 hub interchanges and 4 general interchanges. On the G347 interchange on both sides of the main cross-river bridge to the Zhongjiang Avenue interchange section, the project adopts a two-way eight-lane technical standard with a design speed of 100 km/h; while the connection at both ends adopts a two-way six-lane technical standard with a design speed of 120 km/h.
