Recently, the main transformer expansion project of Songbai 220 kV substation in Xiamen, Fujian Province was officially approved, marking that the implementation of the project has entered a substantive stage. This initiative aims to meet the growing power load demand in the central region of Xiamen Island, while improving the power supply capacity and reliability of the Huli District power grid.

The project is implemented by the Xiamen Power Supply Company of State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd. The company is located at No. 21 Hubin South Road, Siming District, Xiamen City. The construction site of the main transformer expansion project is located in Huli District, which is an important part of the development of the regional power grid.

According to the project plan, the expansion project mainly covers two core contents: first, to add a 240-megavolt-ampere main transformer and related supporting equipment, which will significantly enhance the power transmission capacity of the substation; second, to build two new 110-megavolt-ampere main transformers. Voltage cable outlet spacing to optimize the grid structure and enhance the flexibility and reliability of power transmission.

Through the implementation of these two core construction contents, Xiamen Songbai 220 kV substation will be able to better meet the power demand in the central area of the island, especially during peak hours of electricity consumption, and will effectively alleviate the tight power supply situation. At the same time, the implementation of the project will also provide solid power guarantee for the economic development of Huli District and even Xiamen City as a whole.

It is reported that the total investment of the project is estimated to be 33.72 million yuan. The project unit will accelerate the preliminary preparations for the project in accordance with the approval requirements and strive to start construction as soon as possible.
