From January to June 2024, the cumulative railway shipments in Xinjiang reached 95.558 million tons, a significant increase that highlights the huge potential and irreplaceability of railways in the field of logistics and transportation. On June 8, 2024, a 54-car freight train slowly pulled out of Jiangjunmiao Station in Wujiang Railway, carrying 3,400 tons of coal to Meihuawell Station in Gansu Province to ensure that local power plants can get scarce supplies of electricity and coal. On Wujiang Railway, which is the main artery of coal transportation in Xinjiang, a series of freight trains run continuously like relay runners, busy and orderly, forming a vivid transportation picture.

Xinjiang's railway system has gone all out to ensure smooth transportation of key materials such as coal, steel, fertilizer, grain and cotton, aiming to provide better services for the real economy and the general public. This initiative has not only effectively reduced social logistics costs, but also promoted a steady increase in the volume of road to rail transport. The transportation volume of coal was particularly significant, reaching 64.957 million tons, an increase of 14.3 percent year-on-year, showing the strong strength of Xinjiang railway in the transportation of energy materials.
