On June 21, 2024, with excellent technology and unremitting efforts, Corning Blasting Wuhai Company successfully connected the north drainage corridor of the Lower reservoir area, which was responsible for the Eleventh Engineering Bureau of China Water Resources and Hydropower, and the No. 6 tunnel, which was responsible for the First Bureau of China Railway. This series of through work has laid a solid foundation for the rapid advancement of the main project of the power station, indicating that the power station construction will enter a new stage.
The drainage corridor of the lower reservoir of Wuhai Hydropower Station is located at the lowest point of the reservoir basin and extends from north to south. The south exhaust gallery is 668 meters long, while the north exhaust gallery is 302 meters long. Due to the complex and bad geological conditions such as karst and fault in this area, and the poor regional structural stability, it brings great difficulties and challenges to the construction team.
In the face of these problems, Corning Blasting Wuhai Company did not shrink, but gave full play to professional advantages, carried out careful planning and scientific organization. According to the characteristics of the surrounding rock and the possible water gushing situation of the tunnel, they tailor-made special blasting schemes. In the construction process, according to the actual situation of the fault fracture zone, they carefully control the parameters of the hole network, and take a series of safety measures such as increasing temporary support and timely removal of dangerous stones to ensure the safety and quality of construction.
