On June 22, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Bin attended the groundbreaking and opening ceremony of the first phase of the Hebei Huatong Aluminum Industrial Park project in Angola. The event was highly valued by the Angolan government. Carlos, Secretary of State for Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Angola, Edson, Deputy Governor of Bengo Province, and representatives of Angolan government agencies and relevant business associations attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Ambassador Zhang Bin said that China actively supports enterprises to carry out investment cooperation in Angola and deeply participate in Angola's economic diversification and industrialization process. This move aims to create more jobs and tax revenue for Angola, while cultivating local technical talents. He emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the beginning of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Angola. China is willing to work with Angola to deepen China-Angola economic and trade cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win results, and bring more benefits to the people of the two countries.

Ambassador Zhang Bin also hopes that the Angolan government can further improve the investment environment and provide necessary support and convenience for Chinese companies in Angola.

It is reported that the investment scale of the first phase of Hebei Huatong Aluminum Industrial Park is as high as US$250 million, and the annual output of electrolytic aluminum is expected to be 120,000 tons. The project is expected to be completed and put into production in the second half of 2025, which is of great significance to promoting the development of Angola's aluminum industry.Editor/Cheng Ting
