The Jiangyin Jingjiang Tunnel Project is located between the Jiangyin Bridge and the Taizhou Bridge, 5 kilometers from the Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge, 27 kilometers from the Changtai Bridge under construction upstream, and 54 kilometers from the Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge. The project starts at the intersection of Chengxi Avenue and Gongxin Road in Jingjiang City in the north, sets a tunnel north of Xingang Avenue, crosses the Yangtze River from Qixu Port, exits the tunnel south of Tongfu Road in Jiangyin City, and ends at Furong Avenue. The total length is about 11.825. Kilometers, of which the cross-river tunnel is about 6.4 kilometers long.

The main line of the Jiangyin Jingjiang Tunnel Project adopts the tunnel shield method to cross the Yangtze River. The wiring on both sides is constructed using viaducts and ground methods. The tunnel adopts the technical standard of expressway, two-way six lanes, and the design speed is 80km / h. "This is the seventh cross-river tunnel on the Yangtze River and the first in Taizhou." Highways and railways are arranged in parallel and constructed in phases. Double-pipe highway tunnels are implemented in the near future, and long-term railway single-pipe tunnels are reserved for the implementation conditions.
