On July 3, 2024, the access tunnel of the Zhejiang Yongjia Pumped Storage Power Station, which was constructed by the Fifth Hydropower Bureau, was fully connected, marking a decisive progress in the infrastructure construction of the power station.

The access tunnel is carefully located at a strategic location about 250 meters behind the left bank of the Xiaku Dam, with a total length of 1,913 meters. Its longitudinal slope design cleverly maintains an average slope of 5.16 degrees to ensure traffic efficiency and safety. The excavation of the tunnel follows the classic city gate tunnel design concept, which not only ensures the stability of the structure, but also takes into account the convenience of construction.

Since the TBM moved in in August 2022, the project department has collaborated efficiently and completed the assembly and started in just one month. In April 2023, the TBM arrived at the designed position accurately, and then quickly turned to dismantling and excavation. After 9 months of hard work and scientific management, the access tunnel was connected with high quality ahead of schedule, and the goal was successfully achieved.

All members of the Yongjia Project Hydropower Bureau No. 5 will not forget their original intentions, and will focus closely on the three pillars of safety as the foundation, quality as the soul, and progress as the wings.
