[The construction of the Heyong section of the Chongqing Ring Line Railway will begin]On August 22, 2024, Chongqing Communications Development and Investment Railway Group announced that the preliminary design and measurement of the high-profile Hechuan-Yongchuan section of the Chongqing Metropolitan Ring Railway (C8 line of the municipal railway) is accelerating and is expected to officially start construction within the year. The project has been included in the "Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle Construction Planning Outline" and Chongqing's medium and long-term railway network planning, with a total length of about 142.6 kilometers, passing through Hechuan, Tongliang, Dazu, Rongchang to Yongchuan, with six new stations and three existing stations rebuilt, and multiple stations reserved. The railway is mainly freight, taking into account the long-term passenger demand, with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour and an estimated construction period of four years. After the completion of the project, it will fill the gap of the ring railway in western Chongqing, which is of great significance for optimizing the layout of the new land-sea corridor in the western region and improving the freight capacity. On December 3, 2021, the China-Laos Railway was officially put into operation, opening a new chapter in economic and trade cooperation between China and Laos and Southeast Asia. As of September 16, 2024, the China-Laos Railway has supervised the inspection and release of a total of 10.002 million tons of import and export goods, with a value of 40.77 billion yuan. During this period, the structure of the goods carried was significantly optimized, and the categories increased significantly from more than 500 to more than 3,000. In particular, in the first eight months of 2024, both cargo volume and cargo value have achieved significant growth, showing strong economic and trade vitality.
