On September 23, 2024, it marked another milestone for State Grid Xinyuan Jiangsu Jurong Pumped Storage Power Station. Its Unit 1 successfully completed a rigorous 15 day assessment and trial operation, officially entering a new stage of production and power generation. This power station, located in the heart of Jiangsu Province, not only brings the two major cities of Nanjing and Zhenjiang closer together, but also injects new vitality into the East China Power Grid with its strong energy supply capacity.
Jurong Power Station is a modern engineering miracle that integrates high technology and green energy. It is equipped with six 225000 kW reversible water pump turbine generators, with a total installed capacity of 1.35 million kW. It is directly connected to the power grid through a 500 kV power line and has become an important pillar of regional power dispatch. One of its highlights is the Upper Reservoir Dam, which is known as the crown of the "Three Greats" and reaches a height of 182.3 meters.
