On the morning of September 25, 2024, the first China Uzbekistan University Science and Technology Innovation Conference was grandly held at Northern Polytechnical University. North China University of Technology and Uzbekistan Tashkent State University of Technology, Fergana Institute of Technology, Andijan University of Machinery Manufacturing, Tashkent University of Information Technology, Navoi State University of Mining and Technology, Karshi Institute of Engineering and Economics, Jizak Institute of Technology and other eight universities gathered together to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on issues such as China Uzbekistan educational cooperation and scientific and technological innovation, implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, give play to the advantages of universities, deepen the the Belt and Road initiative with a more positive attitude, and boost the development of China Uzbekistan all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.

Liu Jianqing, Director of the Eurasia Department of the International Department of the Ministry of Education of China, Yahyayev, Counsellor and Consul General of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China, Zhang Xiaoling, Second level Inspector of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, leaders of seven universities in Uzbekistan, leaders of the Northern Institute of Technology, representatives of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) and Beijing Technology and Business University, as well as more than 200 teachers and students from various universities in China and Uzbekistan attended the opening ceremony.

Director Liu Jianqing warmly congratulated the convening of the first Sino Ukrainian University Science and Technology Innovation Conference and affirmed the efforts and achievements made by North China University of Technology in promoting educational and technological exchanges between China and Ukraine. He pointed out that this meeting is a vivid practice of universities in China and Ukraine implementing the Beijing Declaration on University Cooperation between China and Ukraine. North China University of Technology has actively built a platform, and both sides have jointly studied and judged the trend and direction of scientific and technological innovation development, and jointly studied and discussed measures and methods to promote high-quality joint construction of the the Belt and Road. This is the right time to accumulate new experience, establish new models, and enrich new content for China Ukraine university cooperation.

Counselor Yahyayev stated in his speech that the convening of the first China Ukraine University Science and Technology Innovation Conference is an important milestone in the cooperation of education and technology between the two countries, marking a new stage in the partnership between China and Ukraine in the field of education and technology. He emphasized that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with China in the field of education and technology, and looks forward to deepening cooperation with China in basic research, applied research, technology development, and other areas, jointly promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and injecting new vitality into the economic and social development of the two countries.

The conference also held the unveiling ceremony of the China Uzbekistan the Belt and Road Joint Laboratory. North China University of Technology and seven engineering universities in Uzbekistan joined hands to build an upgraded scientific research cooperation platform, tackle key core technologies and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
