In mid January 2025, China Chemical Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd. and Laos MKP Company officially signed the "EPC Contract for Laos Mekong Power 150MW DC Photovoltaic Power Station Project". This important milestone marks a deep cooperation between the two sides in the field of clean energy, jointly promoting the optimization and upgrading of regional energy structure.

The project is located in Champasay Province in southern Laos. It is expected that after completion and operation, the annual average power generation will reach about 238.25 million kilowatt hours, which is enough to meet the annual electricity demand of about 1.5 million households. The environmental benefits of this photovoltaic power station are significant, equivalent to saving about 77700 tons of standard coal consumption annually, while significantly reducing emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and carbon dioxide, specifically 1368 tons, 2054 tons, and 190000 tons, respectively.

The photovoltaic power station project has been included in the power interconnection plan between Laos and Cambodia. The clean electricity produced by the power station will mainly be exported to Cambodia, which will effectively alleviate the problem of seasonal power supply shortage in Cambodia, promote energy complementarity between the two countries, and inject new impetus into their economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao www.seetao.com.
