Important transactions have emerged in the international renewable energy sector. On July 13th, SUNOTEC, a well-known European renewable energy service provider, officially completed the acquisition of SIA DSE Lazas Solar's solar and energy storage project in Latvia. The project is located in the C ī rava area of Dienvidkurzeme, Latvia, and plans to construct a 400 megawatt peak photovoltaic power station and a supporting 600 megawatt hour battery energy storage system.

It is reported that the total investment of the project is 245 million euros (approximately 288 million US dollars), and it is expected to achieve full capacity grid connection by March 2027. The project will build a new Padure 330 kV substation and connect it to the Latvian national power grid through high-voltage lines. The project party will adopt a single axis tracking system, which is expected to increase annual power generation by 11% compared to fixed photovoltaic systems.

SUNOTEC Executive Chairman Kaloyan Velichkov stated that this acquisition is an important milestone in the company's Nordic strategic layout. Carsten Tilm, CEO of Danish Solar Energy, the original project developer, pointed out that the project demonstrates the company's professional capabilities in the field of new energy development.

At present, the project has obtained a construction permit issued by the Latvian government and plans to start construction by the end of 2025. The substation project will start construction in July 2025 and be implemented by the Latvian transmission system operator AS Augstprieguma t ī kls. After the completion of this transaction, SUNOTEC will fully take over the project development work and further expand its influence in the Nordic renewable energy market.
