Recently, Khansaheb Civil Engineering, a well-known construction contracting company in the United Arab Emirates, announced that the company has been appointed as the main contractor for the first phase of the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) expansion project. The project is located in Expo City Dubai and is expected to be completed in 2026.
The first phase of the expansion project will expand the exhibition area of Dubai Exhibition Centre to 140000 square meters, almost 2.5 times the current 58000 square meters.
The project construction scope includes: expansion of 34000 square meters in the south exhibition hall, expansion of 30000 square meters in the north exhibition hall, seamless integration of mechanical and electrical installation (MEP) of composite cladding system for steel structure super high-rise building construction with existing exhibition space and systems, movable partitions, conference rooms, and logistics areas to provide functional and flexible activity space.
After the preliminary construction preparation stage, Khansaheb worked closely with Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) to ensure planning optimization, construction feasibility, and cost control.
At present, the on-site construction of the project has been fully launched, and the foundation engineering and first batch of steel structure installation for the North and South exhibition halls are progressing smoothly.
According to the expansion plan approved by the Dubai Emirate, the entire Dubai Exhibition Center expansion plan is expected to be fully completed by 2031. At that time, the Dubai Exhibition Center will become the most advanced and largest indoor exhibition center in the Middle East, gradually replacing the existing Dubai World Trade Center exhibition hall and becoming the new main venue for future large-scale exhibitions in the UAE.Editor/Zhao E
