On February 19, Yangtze Power announced that the 39th meeting of the sixth Board of Directors of the company reviewed and passed the proposal on the investment in the construction of Henan Gongyi Housihe Pumped storage Power Station Project, agreeing to invest in the construction of the project by Henan Gongyi Pumped Storage Co., LTD., with a total investment of no more than 8.264 billion yuan, of which the capital accounted for 20% of the total investment.

Henan Gongyi Housihe Pumped Storage Power Station project is located in Gongyi City, which is under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, 7 km away from Gongyi City and 50 km away from the main city of Zhengzhou city. The power station plans to install four vertical shaft single-stage mixed-flow pump turbine units with a capacity of 300 megawatts (300 million kilowatts), with a total installed capacity of 1200 megawatts (1.2 million kilowatts), daily continuous full utilization hours of about 6 hours, the planned annual power generation of about 1.559 billion kilowatt-hours, and the comprehensive utilization efficiency of about 75%, which is a first-class (1) type project.

The static investment of the project is 7.076 billion yuan, the total investment is 8.264 billion yuan, and the static investment per kilowatt is 5,896 yuan/kilowatt. After the completion of the power station, it mainly undertakes the tasks of peak regulation, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency backup for Henan power grid.
