After the completion of the project, the driving distance from Budapest to Belgrade will be shortened from 8 hours to about 3 hours, which will greatly facilitate the personnel and logistics exchanges between the two countries and significantly boost the economic development of the regions along the line. The consortium composed of China Railway Ninth Bureau, China Railway Electrification Bureau, and Hungarian partners is responsible for implementing the project, and the green concepts and environmental protection measures incorporated have won recognition from the local people.
