Under the on-site witness of Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, the General Manager's Department of the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on railway talent training cooperation recently. This marks that the talent cultivation cooperation between China and Malaysia in the field of rail transit has entered a brand-new development stage.

The implementation of this agreement will take the ECRL project as the core carrier and systematically establish a localized railway professional talent cultivation system, so as to deliver composite railway talents with both technical capabilities and management experience to Malaysia.

Since the launch of the China-Malaysia railway talent training program in September 2017, the ECRL project has always adhered to the principles of "extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits" of the Belt and Road Initiative and innovatively created a school-enterprise collaborative education model. Through a cultivation mechanism that combines theoretical teaching with practical operation and connects classroom learning with project training, professional talents in the fields of railway construction and operation have been cultivated in stages and with key focuses. As of the end of 2024, the program has cumulatively trained more than 1,500 professional talents for Malaysia, covering multiple fields such as engineering technology and project management, significantly enhancing the level of human resources reserve in the local railway industry.

At present, the ECRL project has renewed cooperation agreements with 15 universities and industry institutions in Malaysia, forming a talent cultivation network covering the entire industrial chain. In the future, the project will continue to increase resource investment. Through measures such as setting up special talent funds, building training bases, and launching customized courses, it will create more high-quality job opportunities and promote the deep integration of project construction and local social and economic development. This move will not only help improve Malaysia's railway construction and operation capabilities, but also build a solid bridge for deepening economic and trade cooperation and promoting cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia, injecting new impetus into realizing regional economic common prosperity. (This article is from the official website of Seetao.com, www.seetao.com.
