On May 22, 2025, the Uzbekistan Technology Industry Association held a meeting with major Chinese energy companies, focusing on 500 MW photovoltaic projects and the coordinated development of local industries, marking a new stage of China-Uzbekistan energy cooperation.
The Jizzakh 500 MW project has entered the implementation phase
The meeting revolved around the planned 500 MW solar power plant project in the Friš district of the Jizzak region of Uzbekistan. The Chinese companies participating in the meeting included China Electric Equipment Group Co., Ltd., China Huadian Overseas Investment Corporation and Poly Changchang Engineering Co., Ltd. On the Ukrainian side, representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the National Association of Electric Power Companies and local cable manufacturers attended. Particular emphasis was placed on promoting the localization of the project. The two sides agreed to widely integrate Uzbekistan's domestic cable products into the project supply chain to optimize logistics costs, shorten delivery cycles, and activate local manufacturing capabilities.
Renewable energy projects have become a new focus of cooperation
In addition to the Jizzakh project, other potential renewable energy development opportunities in Uzbekistan were discussed. In the context of accelerating the modernization of the country's energy system, Chinese companies have expressed a strong willingness to expand the scope of investment and participate in diversified energy projects. The conference identified a long-term cooperation path, which will help Uzbekistan accelerate its energy transition and provide a new platform for the integration of local private enterprises and international capital. The two sides will promote the construction of local supporting industries and form a sustainable bilateral energy cooperation mechanism.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
