Recently, significant progress has been made in the extension of Line 2 of the S ã o Paulo Metro in Brazil. The large-diameter earth pressure balance shield machine "China Railway 1207" developed by China Railway Equipment has successfully completed the first phase of excavation tasks for the project, injecting strong power into the construction of the Sao Paulo Metro.
As a key investment project of the Sao Paulo State Government, the extension of Line 2 connects Vila Prudent é te Station and Penha Station, with a total tunnel length of approximately 6.5 kilometers. In the first phase of construction, the "China Railway 1207" shield machine performed outstandingly, successfully completing a 3.7-kilometer excavation with a maximum daily excavation length of 28.5 meters. China Railway Equipment has organized an international technical service team to provide full support, and the efficient performance and reliable quality of the equipment have been highly recognized by customers.
According to the construction plan, "China Railway 1207" will be dismantled on-site in the VSE Falchi Gianini well, transported to Penha station for reassembly and commissioning, and then begin the second stage of excavation task, continuing towards Rapadura direction. It is worth noting that this shield machine with an excavation diameter of 11.66 meters is not only the first equipment exported by China Railway Equipment to South America, but also the largest diameter shield machine currently in use in South America.
After the completion and opening of the project, it is expected that the daily passenger capacity will reach 500000, which will significantly alleviate the pressure of ground transportation in the eastern region of Sao Paulo, promote local green travel, and have important significance for improving the urban transportation network and promoting regional economic development. This phased victory demonstrates the hard power of China's shield tunneling technology and also writes a wonderful footnote to the infrastructure cooperation between China and Pakistan.
