In the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, about 80 kilometers north of the industrial city of Jubail, the King Salman International Maritime Industrial and Service Complex has risen to prominence. As a crucial infrastructure project in the region, it carries the key strategic layout of Saudi Arabia's 2030 vision and has become a milestone for Saudi Arabia's entry into the marine industry. In this vast engineering system, the construction of the ship lift system is of utmost importance. The system consists of a ship lift platform, a lifting system, a traction system, and a transfer system. Its core function is to smoothly lift the ship from the sea to land, providing convenience for ship maintenance. It is worth mentioning that this ship lift system is currently the largest ship lifting and transportation facility in the world, with an astonishing maximum lifting capacity of 36400 tons and a theoretical working load of 24375 tons, demonstrating the extraordinary strength of engineering.

The construction of the ship lift platform involves a huge amount of work, including the positioning and grouting of 56 locking beams and pre embedded parts for the lifting winch, as well as the complex installation of the lifting system, requiring high coordination and precise construction at every stage. The high temperature climate at the construction site undoubtedly increases the difficulty for the smooth progress of the project. The summer temperatures in Saudi Arabia often exceed 50 ℃, making it particularly difficult for construction workers to work in high temperatures. In addition, strong wind speeds frequently occur during June and July, lasting for two to three days each time, reaching an average wind speed of 15 meters per second, sometimes even higher. This severe construction environment poses a great threat to the construction progress. Nevertheless, the contractor always maintains high morale, ensuring the progress of various construction tasks in harsh environments through scientific and reasonable construction organization and flexible response strategies. The construction site not only faces the challenges of high temperatures and strong winds, but also the impact of complex tidal and current patterns on the construction plan. The tidal characteristics of the Arabian Gulf require precise control of tidal time during construction to ensure critical offshore operations are carried out at the appropriate time. The strong currents and waves on site have also brought additional challenges to the transportation and installation of equipment.

In this environmental context, multiple departments including project technology, quality, and safety have developed strict work plans for construction personnel through multiple field surveys and detailed meteorological data analysis, ensuring construction safety and efficiency. This profound understanding and proactive attitude towards the construction environment have strengthened the cohesion of the project team and laid a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the project. In the face of arduous tasks and harsh environments, the five team members also demonstrated a tenacious spirit of hard work. Currently, the construction of the ship lift platform is progressing smoothly, with the installation of 8 sets of platforms and 8 sets of walkways completed.

The installation and assembly of locking beam components are also progressing in an orderly manner. The achievement of these results cannot be separated from the daily hard work of the construction personnel and the close cooperation of the team. The construction workers on site persisted in their work during the hot summer, sweating profusely but without any regrets. Everyone realizes that their responsibility is not only to complete a project, but also to contribute to the future development of the maritime industry.

In the journey of overcoming numerous difficulties, Chinese companies have won high praise from Saudi Aramco owners for their outstanding contract performance capabilities and strong sense of responsibility. The Saudi Vision 2030 is a grand blueprint drawn up by Saudi Arabia to break free from oil dependence and promote economic transformation, covering key goals such as economic diversification, technological innovation, and human capital enhancement. In the current era of profound changes in the global economic landscape, China, as the world's second-largest economy, actively participates in the construction wave of Saudi Arabia's 2030 vision. Relying on the "the Belt and Road" initiative, many Chinese enterprises have deeply participated in Saudi Arabia's projects in infrastructure, energy, culture, trade and other diverse fields. These cooperative achievements not only promote the vigorous development of the bilateral economy, but also inject strong impetus into regional stability and prosperity. With the increasingly close cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in economic, cultural, technological and other dimensions, the friendship between China and Saudi Arabia in the new era is flourishing. This is not only a vivid portrayal of the joint progress of the two countries, but also a declaration to the world that under the guidance of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, a new chapter of win-win cooperation and common development between China and Saudi Arabia has opened magnificently.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao www.seetao.com.
