Beijing-based Daikin Heavy Industries recently announced that its 250-megawatt Shijiutuo fishery-PV project in Tangshan, Hebei Province, has been fully connected to the grid. This large-scale renewable energy project, which adopts the innovative model of "water power generation and underwater aquaculture", marks an important breakthrough in the strategy of expanding the entire renewable energy industry chain.

Project Overview & Technological Innovation

The project covers an area of about 353 hectares of fishpond waters, with a total of 370,000 high-efficiency bifacial solar panels installed. Through the scientifically designed support system, the three-dimensional composite utilization of photovoltaic power generation and fishery breeding is realized. It is estimated that the annual power generation capacity of the project can reach 400 million kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to saving 120,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 320,000 tons. According to the technical team of Daikin Heavy Industries, the project adopts customized bifacial power generation components and an intelligent operation and maintenance system, which minimizes the impact on the breeding environment while ensuring power generation efficiency.

Economic benefits and ecological value

The Shijiutuo project creatively combines clean energy production with traditional fisheries, realizing an intensive development model of "one land, double income". On the one hand, photovoltaic systems can provide stable and clean power to the grid. On the other hand, the underwater space continues to sustain fishery production and generate a sustainable income for local farmers. This model not only improves the efficiency of land resource utilization, but also significantly improves the ecological environment quality of the Bohai Bay region by reducing fossil energy consumption.

Strategic layout and future development

The successful operation of the project is an important practice of Daikin Heavy Industries' two-wheel drive strategy of "offshore wind power and photovoltaic". The company said that based on its global leading position in the field of offshore wind power basic manufacturing, it is accelerating the extension to a wider renewable energy industry chain. In the future, it will focus on the development of composite photovoltaic projects such as fishery and photovoltaic complementation, and plans to expand the scale of photovoltaic business to 1GW within three years.

Industry impact and exemplary significance

As a leading fishery-PV complementary project in North China, Shijiutuo Power Station provides a replicable model for new energy development in coastal areas. Industry experts pointed out that this innovative model not only solves the problem of land use for photovoltaic projects, but also achieves a balance between economic benefits and ecological protection, and has important demonstration value for promoting the coordinated development of energy transformation and rural revitalization. The successful implementation of the project also demonstrates the innovation ability of Chinese enterprises in integrated renewable energy solutions.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
