In July 2025, the construction bidding work for the G92 Hangzhou Bay Area Ring Expressway from Qijiashan in Ningbo to Jintang in Zhoushan (Ningbo Qijiashan to Jintang section of the Yongzhou Expressway double track) was officially launched. This key project with a total investment of approximately 15.605 billion yuan marks a new stage in the construction of transportation infrastructure in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Project Overview
The project has been approved by the Ministry of Transport in document No. [2025] 433, and the construction drawing design has been approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Transport in document No. [2025] 5020974. Zhejiang Yongzhou Double Line Phase II Expressway Co., Ltd., as the project owner, has completed the self financing of construction funds.
Engineering highlights
The total length of the line is 18 kilometers, connecting Beilun District of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province and Jintang Island of Zhoushan City; We will construct a domestically leading 15.7-meter diameter shield tunnel; Adopting the standard of a two-way six lane expressway, with a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

The project will create multiple new records in the construction of cross sea channels in China: the left and right lines of the Jintang Subsea Tunnel both exceed 11 kilometers; Adopting a composite construction method; Parallel to the under construction Yongzhou Railway Tunnel.
Bidding situation
The project is divided into four sections: TJ1 section (4.32 billion yuan): Beilun side roadbed and shield tunnel; TJ2 section (2.57 billion yuan): Jintang side left tunnel; TJ3 section (2.35 billion yuan): Jintang side right tunnel; TJ4 section (1.81 billion yuan): Jintang Island land project.

The travel distance between Ningbo and Jintang Island in Zhoushan will be shortened by about 20 kilometers; Relieve the existing traffic pressure on the Yongzhou Expressway; Promote the integration of Zhoushan Archipelago New Area into the Ningbo metropolitan area; Promote the coordinated development of the Yangtze River Delta port cluster.
