The financing for this project is supported by the French Development Agency in euros. The main construction tasks include the repair and upgrading of 75 kilometers of old pipeline networks, as well as the renovation of supporting systems. Upon completion of the project, the water supply stability in the CBD area of Kenya's capital will be significantly improved, and the lives of surrounding residents will also benefit from it.

Due to the construction site being located in the core business district of Nairobi, the consortium team faces multiple challenges such as traffic congestion in busy areas and dense underground pipelines. They plan to adopt trenchless technology for construction to minimize interference with the normal operation of the city. This plan has been fully affirmed by the owner and the local government. It is worth mentioning that the trenchless pipe expansion technology to be applied in the project is the first time to be used in East Africa, and it is expected to become a technology demonstration project that international financial institutions and owners will focus on in the future.
