Recently, China Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. Cambodia Branch officially received the winning bid notification from Electricite Du Cambodia, and successfully won the bid for its grid type energy storage power station project located in the Chak Ja Province substation of the Kingdom of Cambodia. This major breakthrough marks that China Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. has taken a solid step in the field of new energy storage, and also adds new achievements to the energy infrastructure construction cooperation between China and Cambodia under the the Belt and Road framework.

It is reported that the project, as a key demonstration project promoted by Cambodia State Power Company, has a total scale of 100 MW/200 MWh and will adopt the current internationally leading grid forming energy storage technology solution. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will effectively enhance the frequency regulation and voltage support capabilities of the power grid in Cambodia's Chajiao Province and surrounding areas, providing a more stable and reliable power guarantee for the local economic and social development.

According to the project plan, China Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. will be responsible for providing full lifecycle engineering services, including overall design of battery energy storage systems, procurement of core equipment, on-site installation and construction, system joint debugging, and long-term operation and maintenance. During the project implementation process, the company will fully leverage its rich experience in heavy equipment manufacturing and engineering general contracting to ensure high-quality and on-time delivery of the project.

This bidding process has attracted the active participation of many well-known energy storage enterprises and engineering general contractors in China. China Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. successfully won the fierce international bidding by forming a consortium with leading enterprises in China's new energy industry, achieving a strong combination of technological advantages and engineering management experience.

It is worth noting that as of now, there are no large-scale electrochemical energy storage systems in operation within the Kingdom of Cambodia. The implementation of this project will not only fill the gap in the application of large-scale energy storage technology in the Kingdom of Cambodia, but also become an important milestone in the country's energy development history. After the project is put into operation, it will significantly enhance the stability and power supply reliability of the Kingdom of Cambodia's power grid, which has profound strategic significance for ensuring regional energy security and promoting the consumption of renewable energy. This is another example of China Cambodia cooperation in the field of energy infrastructure under the the Belt and Road Initiative.
