Recently, good news came from the construction of the Hepu Zhanjiang high-speed railway Guangxi section. The pile foundation of the Niupi River super large bridge has officially started drilling, which is of great significance and marks the completion of the first section of the Hepu Zhanjiang high-speed railway Guangxi section project.
In the construction of new railway lines, starting the section project first is a key strategy to accelerate project progress. The key engineering points that are constructed in advance are often the core of the entire project, just like the advance team of the project. The smooth progress of these key parts can lay a solid foundation for subsequent large-scale construction, effectively control the overall construction cycle of the project, and ensure the smooth completion of the project as planned.

The Guangxi section of the Hezhan high-speed railway has a huge lineup of construction projects, including the Tieshan Port Cross Sea Bridge, as well as eight bridges including the Shuidong River, Shanghechong, Songbei Expressway, Hubei Expressway, Huangjitang, Gaofengdong, and Niupi River Extra Large Bridge. Since March this year, the construction of the remaining seven bridges has gradually begun. With the commencement of the Niupi River Grand Bridge, the first section of the project has achieved full construction, and the project construction has entered a new stage. At present, 1135 bridge pile foundations and 7 bridge piers have been completed in the Guangxi section, and the construction results have begun to show.
The Niupi River Grand Bridge, which is currently under construction, is located in Hepu County, Beihai City, Guangxi Province. It has a total length of 1605.4 meters and is a key hub connecting the Guangxi and Guangdong sections of the Hezhan high-speed railway. The bridge is designed on a grand scale, with a total of 340 pile foundations, 48 pier bodies, and 49 precast simply supported beams. However, its construction path is full of challenges. The bridge needs to cross the Niupi River and surface liquefied natural gas pipelines. There are also large underground caves around the bridge site, and the complex geological and geographical conditions place extremely high demands on construction technology and management. Despite numerous difficulties, the construction of the Niupi River Extra Large Bridge is crucial for the Hezhan High speed Railway project and a key step in promoting the overall progress of the project.
The Hezhan high-speed railway has a total length of about 139 kilometers and a designed speed of up to 350 kilometers per hour, occupying a pivotal position in China's railway network. It is an important component of China's Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals high-speed railway network, including the Baotou (Silver) Sea Passage and Coastal Passage. It is positioned as an important inter regional passenger dedicated railway in the country, and is also a key link in Guangxi's eastward high-speed new channel and the coastal high-speed new channel connecting the Beibu Gulf, Pearl River Delta, and Yangtze River Delta.

The project is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2028. At that time, it will unleash enormous transportation potential, effectively expanding the coastal railway transportation capacity of Guangdong and Guangxi, and further optimizing and improving the regional railway network layout. For the people along the route, travel will become more convenient and efficient, greatly shortening the time and space distance; From the perspective of regional development, it will effectively promote the construction of the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration, promote industrial upgrading and economic structural adjustment in the areas along the route, inject strong impetus into high-quality economic and social development, and drive the region to achieve new leaps forward.
