Recently, the construction and expansion project of the Heyang Pucheng section of the Beijing Kunming Expressway, undertaken by Shaanxi Traffic Control Construction Management Company, has successfully completed the bidding work for each construction section. This progress marks the official start of construction preparation for the major transportation upgrade project, which has a total investment of 8.775 billion yuan and a total length of approximately 76.868 kilometers, and is scheduled to commence in September this year.
The Heyang Pucheng section of the Beijing Kunming Expressway is a key lifeline for local road transportation. The significance of this renovation and expansion project is extraordinary. After completion, the project will be upgraded to a two-way eight lane expressway with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour, greatly improving the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network and significantly enhancing regional traffic capacity. It will pave a highway for the high-quality economic and social development of Heyang County, Chengcheng County, and Pucheng County, drive the vigorous development of regional industries, and promote the efficient circulation of personnel and materials.

The route planning of this project is scientifically reasonable, starting from the Heyang East Interchange where the Beijing Kunming Expressway (G5) intersects with the Hebao Expressway (G3511), extending steadily along the existing expressway, and ending at the Dongyang Interchange where the Beijing Kunming Expressway (G5) intersects with the Yulan Expressway (G6521). The layout of the entire line is like a precise chess game, with 7 interchanges set up. Among them, 6 interchanges in Heyang East (hub), Heyang, Weizhuang, Shima (hub), Sunzhen, and Dongyang (hub) will be carefully renovated and expanded, and 1 new Qifeng interchange will be built to further optimize transportation transfer nodes; At the same time, 4 toll stations and 2 service areas will be set up, including 1 newly added Pucheng service area and 1 expanded Chengcheng service area, providing more convenient and comfortable services for passing drivers and passengers.
In terms of integrated transportation and energy construction, the project party boldly innovates and carefully layouts. We plan to install distributed photovoltaics in 2 service areas, 4 building construction areas, 5 open spaces in interchange areas, and 2 roadbed slopes to transform idle spaces into power stations and achieve on-site utilization of clean energy; Constructing heavy-duty truck and small new energy vehicle swapping stations in Chengcheng and Pucheng service areas, and supporting dynamic energy storage charging vehicles and emergency mobile energy storage facilities to provide comprehensive energy security for new energy vehicles; At the same time, we will increase the transformer capacity of toll stations in Qifeng, Weizhuang, and Sunzhen, reserve charging facility interfaces, gradually promote the opening of toll station charging services to the society, and build a widely covered, convenient, and efficient green transportation energy network, leading the transportation industry to transform towards green and low-carbon.
The concept of green environmental protection runs through the entire construction process. We will vigorously promote the recycling of road milling materials, waste guardrails, masonry, and other materials during construction, turning waste into treasure and achieving resource recycling; Through green construction technologies such as dust prevention and control on construction sites, access to construction machinery, separation of mud and water from pile foundations, and integrated sewage treatment at the site, it is like wearing an "environmental mask" on the construction process, minimizing the impact on the environment and creating a green construction environment that harmoniously coexists with nature.

In terms of smart demonstration construction, the project is based on GIS+BIM digital base, integrating on-site data such as monitoring videos and panoramic photos to achieve digital twin management of construction progress, quality, and safety, making the project construction like being carried out in a transparent glass room, with every link clearly visible, controllable, and manageable; Relying on Beidou high-precision positioning, inertial navigation, and radar sensing technology, we have created an intelligent construction system for the entire process of asphalt pavement mixing, transportation, paving, and rolling. It is like equipping a smart brain for engineering construction, achieving precise control and efficient coordination of the construction process, and safeguarding engineering quality and safety.
The renovation and expansion project of the Heyang Pucheng section of the Beijing Kunming Expressway is writing a magnificent chapter of transportation development on the land of Guanzhong with innovation as the pen and practical work as the ink!
