Recently, the construction of the Saierlong Langmusi section of the G0611 Zhangye Wenchuan National Expressway and the Gaxiu Maqu section of the S45 Lujiu Expressway officially broke ground. These two highway projects, as key components of the Ganchuan New Corridor, are not only the first major transportation projects to be implemented after the promotion of highway transportation infrastructure improvement in ethnic areas of the province, but also carry new hopes for regional coordinated development.

These two projects are located at the junction of Gansu, Qinghai, and Sichuan provinces, with elevations ranging from 3300 to 3500 meters. The construction conditions are complex due to the high altitude and lack of oxygen. However, despite facing numerous challenges, the project proceeded smoothly with a total investment of 11.39 billion yuan. It was jointly invested, constructed, and operated by China Construction Engineering Corporation Limited and its subsidiaries China Construction Foundation and China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, demonstrating strong construction strength and determination.
The section of Zhangwen Expressway from Sailong to Langmu Temple has a total length of 57.123 kilometers and is constructed according to the technical standards of a two-way four lane expressway. It is a key project in the comprehensive transportation system development plan of Gansu Province during the 14th Five Year Plan period, like a giant dragon that connects important towns and economic nodes along the route, injecting strong impetus into regional development.
The section from Gaxiu to Maqu on the S45 Lujiu Expressway should not be underestimated. The total length of the line is 41.849 kilometers, with a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The entire line adopts the technical standard of a two-way four lane expressway. It is one of the north-south longitudinal lines in the "Gansu Provincial Road Network Plan" with 6 rings, 7 verticals, 7 horizontals, and 46 connections. It is also an important component of the Gansu Qinghai Expressway Ring Line in Gansu Province, like a link that closely connects the two provinces and promotes regional exchanges and cooperation.

The construction significance of these two projects is profound. From the perspective of transportation, they will further improve the regional transportation network, enhance the inter provincial transportation capacity, and make the connections between the three provinces closer and more efficient. In terms of economic development, the completion of the project will become the "golden key" to drive the development of tourism and other resources along the route. The border between Gansu, Qinghai, and Sichuan boasts rich natural landscapes and unique ethnic cultures.
