Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" goals, state-owned energy enterprises are accelerating their deployment in the new energy sector. On September 4th, Gansu Energy issued an announcement stating that, in order to further expand the company's installed capacity of new energy power generation, its holding subsidiary, Gansu Diantou Minqin New Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Minqin Company"), plans to invest in the construction of the Minqin 1,000,000 kW wind-solar power integration project, with a total dynamic investment of 4,088,689,100 yuan.
The announcement shows that the Minqin 1,000,000 kW wind-solar power integration project is located in Nanhu Town, Minqin County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, with a total installed capacity of 1000MW, including the construction of a 500MW photovoltaic power plant and a 500MW wind power plant.Currently, the project has completed preliminary work such as project approval (filing), feasibility study, and review. Before construction can commence, land acquisition and leasing, environmental impact assessment, soil and water conservation plan preparation, and grid connection system design report preparation are still required.

Regarding this project, Gansu Energy stated that it is an important measure to actively respond to the national policy of vigorously developing renewable energy and further expand the company's new energy installed capacity. It can further promote the development of the company's main business, increase the company's new energy power generation installed capacity and the proportion of new energy assets, and increase the company's power generation and power generation business income. This is the second GW-level wind and solar project announced by Gansu Energy for construction in 2025.
On March 11, 2025, Gansu Energy announced that Qingyang New Energy Company, a subsidiary of its wholly-owned subsidiary Jiuhui Company, will invest 4.484 billion yuan to construct the first phase of the Gansu Qingyang Eastern Data and Western Computing Industrial Park Green Electricity Aggregation Pilot Project.
The project is planned to have an installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts, including 750,000 kilowatts of wind power and 250,000 kilowatts of photovoltaic power. The total construction period for the project is 15 months, and it is mainly distributed in the northern part of Huan County, Gansu. With the successive implementation of the Minqin project and the Qingyang project in the first half of the year, Gansu Energy's new energy installed capacity will achieve a leapfrog growth. The construction of these two million-kilowatt-level projects will not only significantly increase the company's proportion of clean energy, but also strengthen resource synergy through the integrated wind and solar development model, injecting new impetus into the high-quality development of Gansu Province's new energy industry, and providing important support for the construction of a green energy system in the Northwest region.
