In order to promote the basic power construction of countries along the "the Belt and Road", deepen the cooperation with South American countries, the Republic of Suriname, in the fields of basic people's livelihood such as power, and provide continuous and reliable power supply for the power free areas of the Suriname River, Risen Energy and Powerchina jointly build the hybrid micro grid project of light storage and diesel in the Republic of Suriname.
As a core system supplier, Risen Energy provided efficient photovoltaic modules and energy storage system solutions for the project, with a photovoltaic installed capacity of 5MW and an energy storage installed capacity of nearly 14mWh. It has successfully achieved sustainable power supply for 7 forest villages in Suriname, laying a solid energy foundation for improving residents' quality of life and promoting sustainable social development.

The Republic of Suriname is located in the northeast of South America and has long faced the challenge of weak power infrastructure. With the development of the local area, the demand for electricity has been increasing year by year, and the energy shortage in remote areas is particularly prominent. Before the project was put into operation, the local area relied on diesel imported from the outside for power generation for a long time. The power supply period was limited to 6pm to 11pm and the cost was high, which seriously restricted the quality of life of residents and regional development. However, there were also opportunities for transformation in the dilemma: Suriname has excellent solar energy resources, and the local government is actively promoting energy structure transformation, strongly supporting the implementation of off grid microgrid projects. Based on local practical needs and resource advantages, Risen Energy has precisely connected with China Power Construction to jointly tailor a hybrid microgrid solution for Suriname that integrates light storage and diesel.

The core of the solar energy storage scheme is to build a closed-loop system of "power generation storage replenishment", including photovoltaic power generation system, diesel generator, and energy storage system. The synergy of the three can not only reduce the dependence on traditional energy, but also solve the instability problem of new energy. Therefore, it plays a key role in scenarios with poor grid conditions and diverse power supply demands. Risen Energy photovoltaic modules can achieve efficient power generation under high radiation conditions in the local area. The Risen Energy energy storage system is the core energy storage unit, which can store surplus photovoltaic power and quickly release it when the light weakens or electricity consumption surges, stabilizing the fluctuations of new energy generation and forming the main force of stable power supply. As an externally linked emergency power supply unit, diesel generators seamlessly connect with photovoltaic and energy storage systems when they are insufficient to support the load, significantly improving power supply reliability, improving the electricity situation of local residents, and achieving harmonious coexistence between local economic development and ecological environment.
During the project construction process, the complex terrain and transportation conditions in the local area posed significant challenges. The equipment needed to be transported by long-distance waterways and air freight, and some construction areas had inconvenient transportation. Therefore, the project team fully utilized their technological innovation and engineering experience advantages, adopted a cluster type energy storage system structure tailored to local conditions, and separated energy storage components. This not only greatly improved the equipment's resistance to damage during long-distance transportation, but also effectively shortened the on-site installation period, ensuring high-quality and efficient project progress. The local government and residents highly recognized and praised the project team for completing the project construction with high quality and efficiency.

After the project is put into operation, the core value of Risen Energy's solar storage system continues to be transformed into local development dividends: on the one hand, the project has changed the history of "limited time power supply" in seven villages, providing stable and clean electricity to meet the electricity needs of residents' daily lives and small-scale production; On the other hand, through solar power generation, the dependence on diesel power generation is reduced, significantly reducing electricity costs and providing key power support for the development of industries such as ecological tourism in villages. In addition, this low-carbon and environmentally friendly energy model is precisely in line with Suriname's renewable energy transformation strategy, providing a practical benchmark for off grid energy projects in tropical regions around the world.
The successful implementation of the Suriname project has accumulated valuable localization experience for Risen Energy to promote integrated light storage and diesel solutions in South America and other emerging markets. In the future, Risen Energy will help more regions around the world break through energy bottlenecks and jointly promote energy transformation and achieve carbon neutrality goals. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
