On September 28, 2025, the B section of the Xiangtou Energy Yuezhou 2 × 1 million kilowatt coal-fired power generation project (hereinafter referred to as Yuezhou Power Plant), constructed by China Energy Engineering Hunan Thermal Power, reached an important moment - pouring the first concrete of the boiler, marking the official entry of the B section of the project into the comprehensive construction stage.

The significance of Yuezhou Power Plant is extraordinary. It is a national "14th Five Year Plan" for power development and a key project for power construction in Hunan Province. It undertakes the key mission of ensuring stable power supply in the northern and eastern regions of Hunan Province. The project is constructed by Hunan Energy Group's Hunan Energy Investment Yuezhou Power Generation Co., Ltd., with a total investment of approximately 8.4 billion yuan. In terms of technological application, Yuezhou Power Plant has adopted advanced technology in the current coal-fired power generation field - ultra supercritical secondary reheating power generation technology, which has enabled the project's environmental protection, energy consumption, and efficiency indicators to be at the first-class level of similar units in the country. The project is expected to be officially put into operation in 2027, with an annual power generation of up to 9 billion kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to one tenth of the annual electricity consumption of residents in Hunan. It can not only efficiently ensure the peak shaving operation of regional power grids and effectively alleviate the tight balance between power supply and demand, but also provide strong energy support for the comprehensive implementation of the "three highs and four new" beautiful blueprint.

As the contractor of this project, China Energy Engineering Hunan Thermal Power is a veteran of the power industry who has been deeply involved in the national energy construction field for more than 70 years. It was born and grew up in Hunan, and has always resonated and walked in the same direction as Hunan's energy development. Looking back on the past, China Energy Engineering Hunan Thermal Power has created many brilliant achievements.
