Recently, good news came from Staberg's subsidiary in Australia, GEO Group, which has successfully won a contract worth up to $147 million to be responsible for the upgrade project of Reed Highway in Perth, Western Australia.

The Reed Highway is of great significance. It is not only one of the busiest freight routes in the region, but also an important east-west transportation connection in Perth, the capital of Western Australia, with extremely high strategic value. However, the current traffic situation urgently needs improvement, and this upgrade project is a breakthrough move.
The project work focuses on the design of two intersections and their level separation from the bridge interchange. Specifically, the design and construction contract covers the modernization of the Alway Road on the Gerrid Highway and the Druperlier Drive/Daviot Road intersection. The client responsible for implementing this project is the Western Australian Main Roads Authority.
This upgrade project has profound significance. By adopting a separated overpass for renovation, congestion can be effectively reduced, making freight transportation more reliable and safe, and achieving more efficient traffic flow and higher safety in one of the busiest freight corridors in the local area. At the same time, a new bridge and several underground passages will be built to improve the access conditions for cyclists and pedestrians to the Swan Valley wine and tourist areas, further enhancing the comprehensive convenience of transportation.

The project aims to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and improve traffic flow in the northeast corridor of Perth. At present, preparations have been fully initiated and the project is expected to be completed by 2028. It is worth mentioning that the project is jointly funded by the Australian federal government and the Western Australian state government, demonstrating the government's determination to improve transportation and promote regional development.Editor/Cheng Liting
