The 4.26 billion yuan airport project jointly won by China Construction Eighth Engineering Division and China Construction Third Engineering Division is not a single terminal construction, but a comprehensive project covering three core areas: terminal area expansion, flight area upgrade, and supporting area improvement. Among them, a new 28000 square meter T3 satellite hall will be built in the terminal area, with 12 nearby stands and 8 self-service check-in islands, directly solving the current problem of passenger queue congestion; The flight area will focus on lengthening and thickening the existing runway, and building a parallel taxiway to meet the takeoff and landing needs of large wide body aircraft. The flight support efficiency is expected to increase by more than 35%; The supporting area will also simultaneously construct passenger distribution centers, smart parking lots, and municipal road connecting lines to achieve seamless transfer between the airport, high-speed rail, and urban subway.

To ensure engineering quality and construction efficiency, the two major central enterprises have innovatively adopted the management mode of "joint command center+professional sub project department": China Construction Eighth Engineering Division, relying on its technical advantages in the construction of super large public buildings, leads the construction of terminal areas and supporting facilities, focusing on tackling technical difficulties such as large-span steel structure installation and complex electromechanical system integration; China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, relying on its experience in the field of transportation infrastructure, is responsible for runway reconstruction and runway engineering in the airfield area, strictly controlling key indicators such as road surface flatness and drainage system. Both parties will also jointly invest in smart construction technology, achieving "full process visualization, data traceability, and risk control" of engineering construction through BIM model full process control, drone inspection, intelligent concrete pouring system, etc.

According to the project leader, the airport project is scheduled to officially start construction in the third quarter of 2024, with a total construction period of 38 months, and is expected to be completed and accepted by the end of 2027. After the completion of the project, the annual passenger throughput of the airport will soar from the existing 8 million to 12 million, and the cargo throughput will exceed 150000 tons. This will not only meet the rapid growth of regional air travel demand, but also become the "core engine" driving the development of the airport economic zone. Relying on the transportation advantages of the airport, the surrounding areas will focus on industries such as aviation logistics, high-end manufacturing, and cross-border e-commerce, which are expected to create more than 20000 job opportunities and inject strong impetus into the high-quality development of the regional economy

The project plans a 500000 square meter terminal building, dual long-distance runways, as well as a comprehensive transportation center and parking building that integrates multiple modes of transportation. This is almost equivalent to building a fully functional aviation city on the sea. What is the concept of a 500000 square meter terminal building with a super large volume? It is capable of accommodating massive passenger throughput, and the planning of its internal space, the flow of people and logistics, and the integration of various systems are all extremely complex system engineering. Technological peak: "Dual long haul runways" mean that aircraft can take off and land independently without interfering with each other, greatly improving the operational efficiency and capacity of airports. This places almost stringent requirements on foundation treatment, runway smoothness, and durability in design and construction, especially on land filled at sea.Editor/Bian Wenjun
