Recently, the bidding process for the renovation and expansion project of the Xi'an Yongshou section of the Fuyin Expressway, with a total investment of 13.1 billion yuan, has successfully concluded. The winning bid has been officially announced, marking that this key project, which is related to the upgrading of the transportation network in the Guanzhong region, is about to enter the substantive construction stage. As an important component of the national highway network, the implementation of this project will not only further enhance the traffic capacity and service level of the Fuyin Expressway, but also inject strong impetus into the economic synergy and improvement of people's livelihoods between the Xi'an metropolitan area and surrounding areas.

It is reported that the section of Fuyin Expressway from Xi'an to Yongshou starts from Weiyang District of Xi'an City, passes through Qindu District, Xingping City, Qian County of Xianyang City, and ends at Yongshou County of Baoji City. The current situation is a two-way four lane expressway. With the rapid development of regional economy and society, the existing road capacity is no longer able to meet the increasing demand for traffic flow, and traffic congestion problems occur from time to time. The total length of this renovation and expansion project is about 98 kilometers. It will be upgraded and renovated according to the standards of a two-way eight lane expressway, with a designed speed of 120 kilometers per hour. At the same time, interchanges, service areas, toll stations, and traffic safety facilities will be improved. After the completion of the project, the road capacity will be doubled, and the commuting time from Xi'an to Yongshou is expected to be shortened to less than 1 hour, greatly alleviating regional traffic pressure.

During the construction process, the construction party will focus on the four core goals of "safety, quality, efficiency, and green", and address the technical difficulties in the renovation and expansion of existing roads in a targeted manner. In response to the complex terrain and multiple nodes crossing rivers and roads along the route, intelligent construction equipment and advanced technology will be adopted to reduce interference with existing traffic; At the same time, strict implementation of green highway construction requirements, optimization of route design to avoid ecologically sensitive areas, use of energy-saving and environmentally friendly materials and slope ecological protection technologies, and achieve harmonious coexistence between engineering construction and ecological protection. In addition, the project will also integrate the concept of smart transportation, add intelligent systems such as traffic flow monitoring and emergency warning, and improve the level of refinement in road operation and management.

At present, the winning bidder has started the preliminary preparation work of the project, and is accelerating the review of construction drawings, approval of land use, and entry of construction teams. It is expected to officially start construction in the near future, with a planned construction period of 3 years. After the completion and opening of the project, the section of Fuyin Expressway from Xi'an to Yongshou will become a "safe, smooth, green, intelligent, and economically efficient" transportation artery.
