Recently, the preliminary review of the land for the Fuyang section of the Suqian Suiping Expressway project has been officially approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources. This important progress marks a breakthrough in the construction of this high-speed corridor spanning the northern Anhui region, laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive construction of the project. This project is not only an important component of Anhui Province's "14th Five Year Plan" comprehensive transportation system planning, but also an important transportation link connecting the Yangtze River Delta and the central and western regions.

The starting point of the Fuyang section of the Su Sui Expressway is located on the east side of Ranmiao Township in Yingdong District, Fuyang City, connecting with the Bozhou section. The route runs from east to west, passing through important nodes such as Yingdong District, Yingquan District, Taihe County, Jieshou City, and Linquan County in Fuyang City, and finally connects with the Shenqiu section of the Shenlu Expressway in Henan Province. The total length of the project is 72.563 kilometers, constructed according to the standard of a two-way four lane expressway, with a designed speed of 120 kilometers per hour and a roadbed width of 27 meters. The total investment scale is about 11 billion yuan.

In terms of project scale, a total of 80 bridges will be installed along the entire line, including 7 super major bridges, 15 major bridges, and 58 medium bridges. These bridge projects not only need to cross numerous river systems, but also ensure effective connection with the existing road network. At the same time, the project will construct 6 interchanges, including 2 hub interchanges and 4 service-oriented interchanges, and support the construction of 1 service area, 4 ramp toll stations, 1 maintenance work area, and 1 monitoring and management sub center, forming a complete expressway operation service system.

The construction of the Fuyang section of the Su Sui Expressway has significant strategic importance. Firstly, this project will effectively improve the layout of the "Five Vertical and Nine Horizontal" expressway network in Anhui Province, filling the gap in the regional road network. Secondly, as an important channel connecting Jiangsu, Anhui, and Henan provinces, it will significantly strengthen the connection between the Yangtze River Delta region and the Central Plains Economic Zone and the Yangtze River Midstream Urban Agglomeration, promoting the smooth flow of economic factors between regions.

Of particular note is that the project will directly serve five counties and districts in Fuyang City, effectively improving transportation conditions along the route. At present, the coverage of highways in some counties and cities in the region is still insufficient, and residents and goods transportation often need to detour. After the completion of the project, it will significantly shorten travel time, reduce logistics costs, and create favorable conditions for the export of local specialty agricultural products and the development of tourism resources.

With the breakthrough of the key node of land pre-approval, the follow-up work of the project is accelerating. It is reported that the Transportation Bureau of Fuyang City will focus on promoting three core tasks: firstly, accelerating the selection of franchisees and introducing social capital to participate in project construction and operation; The second is to complete the approval of the feasibility study report of the project as soon as possible; The third is to accelerate the special review of railway related engineering schemes.

It is worth mentioning that the project has innovated its work ideas during the promotion process and proposed a construction plan of "starting construction of railway related projects first". This arrangement can effectively avoid technical bottlenecks in subsequent construction and accumulate experience for the entire project. At present, relevant departments are making every effort to achieve the goal of starting the railway project before the end of the year.

The construction of the Fuyang section of the Su Sui Expressway will further enhance the hub position of Fuyang City in the national comprehensive transportation network. After the completion of the project, Fuyang will become an important node connecting the eastern coastal areas with the central and western regions, playing a more important role in the regional development pattern.

In the long run, this highway is not only a transportation channel, but also an economic development belt.
