Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Anhui Province officially approved the application reports for the renovation and expansion project of the G4212 He'an Expressway Liangting Hub to Anqing Interchange section and the S48 Hefei Yeji Expressway Deshang Expressway to Jiguang Expressway section, laying the foundation for the early commencement of project construction. The promotion of these two projects will further improve the expressway network in Anhui Province and strengthen the interconnection of transportation infrastructure in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The starting point of the G4212 He'an Expressway renovation and expansion project is located on the south side of Liangting Hub in Yixiu District, Anqing City, and is connected to the section of He'an Expressway from Tongcheng South Hub to Liangting Hub. The route extends southward along the existing expressway, passing through Wuheng Township, Dalongshan Town, and Daqiao Street in Yixiu District, and ends at the south side of Anqing Interchange in Daqiao Street. The project has a total length of approximately 17.30 kilometers and is an important transportation artery connecting Anqing and Hefei.

The starting point of the S48 Heye Expressway new construction project is located on the southwest side of Shannan Town, Feixi County, Hefei City, connecting with the G0321 Deshang Expressway. The route extends westward, passing through Sungang Town, Laozidian Town, Zhangdian Town, Zhongdian Town in Jin'an District, Lu'an City, as well as Qingshan Township in Yu'an District, and finally reaching the east side of Subu Town in Yu'an District. The project has a total length of approximately 37.52 kilometers and will further improve the road network structure in the western Anhui region.

The construction of these two projects is of great significance in promoting regional coordinated development within Anhui Province. As an important component of the national highway network, the renovation and expansion of G4212 He'an Expressway will effectively enhance the traffic capacity from Hefei to Anqing and alleviate the traffic pressure on existing roads. The construction of S48 Heye Expressway will strengthen the transportation connection between Hefei and Lu'an area, and optimize the layout of regional expressway network.

It is reported that Anhui Province is accelerating the implementation of the "14th Five Year Plan" comprehensive transportation system plan, and plans to basically build the "Five Vertical and Nine Horizontal" expressway network by 2025.
