Recently, the bidding results for the design, construction, general contracting, and subcontracting of the G30 Guazhou Xingxingxia and G312 Guazhou Xingxingxia integrated upgrading and renovation projects (Phase I) have been officially announced. China Railway 21st Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Transportation Construction Co., Ltd., and Gansu Gongfa Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. won the three core sections of the project with excellent technical solutions and reasonable quotations. This marks a crucial progress in the expansion project of the transportation artery that crosses northwest China, laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive promotion of construction by 2025.

As an important component of the Lianhuo Expressway (G30), the project starts from the east side of Guazhou County, Gansu Province, and connects with the G30 Lianhuo Expressway and the G312 line Qigua section through a hub interchange. The endpoint ends at the Ganxin junction on the east side of Xingxingxia Town, perfectly connecting with the ongoing expansion and renovation of the G30 Xingxingxia to Hami section in Xinjiang. The project innovation adopts the "integrated upgrading and transformation" mode, which is promoted in two phases: the first phase focuses on the "six to eight" project, by widening two lanes of the G30 Lianhuo Expressway up line and transforming and utilizing the G312 line and the existing G30 down line to form a two-way 8-lane expressway; The second phase of the project will timely promote the "eight to ten" project, ultimately achieving the separation of G30 eight lane and G312 two lane operation, and building a more scientific and complete highway network system.

This bidding is divided into three sections, and the project scale and winning situation of each section are as follows:

The total length of the first section of the route is 20.12 kilometers, and the project includes the construction of one super large bridge of 787 meters, five medium bridges of 260 meters, three small bridges of 85 meters, as well as major node projects such as the Guazhou hub interchange and Guazhou interchange. China Railway 21st Bureau Group Co., Ltd. successfully won the bid with a quotation of 319342064 yuan, demonstrating its strong strength in the construction of complex bridges and interchanges.

The second section of the route has a total length of 19.777 kilometers and requires the construction of 8 medium bridges with a length of 422.62 meters, as well as a new Guazhou West Interchange. Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Transportation Construction Co., Ltd. won the bid with a price of 179512800.09 yuan, reflecting the important position of local construction enterprises in major regional projects.

The total length of the third section of the route is 28.903 kilometers, mainly including the construction of 5 medium bridges with a length of 311.58 meters and the construction of 1 new Baidunzi interchange. Gansu Gongfa Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. successfully won the bid with a quotation of 200080118.26 yuan, demonstrating the professional level of local backbone enterprises in the field of highway construction. The implementation of this project has significant strategic significance. As the most important transportation corridor in western China, G30 Lianhuo Expressway undertakes the important task of east-west passenger and freight transportation. This expansion and renovation will effectively solve the problem of insufficient road capacity, greatly improve the overall operational efficiency of the road network, further strengthen the economic ties between Gansu and Xinjiang provinces, and have a profound impact on promoting the formation of a new pattern of western development, promoting regional economic and social coordinated development, and strengthening the connectivity between China and Central Asia. It is expected that the project will fully commence construction in 2025, injecting new transportation momentum into the high-quality development of the western region. Editor/Yang Beihua
