Recently, the bid winning results of the survey and preliminary design of the Tabu Bridge Project in Lang County, Linzhi City, Xizang Autonomous Region were officially announced. CCCC First Highway Survey, Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CCCC First Highway Survey, Design and Research Institute"), relying on professional technical solutions, rich experience of plateau projects and a high score of 84.26, successfully won the right to survey and preliminary design of the project, laying a solid foundation for the landing of this snowy plateau transportation hub project.

As a leading enterprise in the field of highway survey and design in China, the winning bid of CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. is not accidental. Since its establishment, the company has been deeply involved in the field of engineering design under high-altitude and complex geological conditions. It has participated in multiple major projects such as the Qinghai Tibet Highway and the Sichuan Tibet Railway supporting transportation engineering, accumulating core technological advantages in dealing with high-altitude hypoxia, permafrost construction, and ecological sensitive area protection. In response to the particularity of the Tabu Bridge project, CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. has formed a special team composed of senior geological engineers and bridge structure experts, and completed multiple rounds of on-site inspections and technical demonstrations during the bidding stage.

It is understood that the Tabu Bridge is located along the the Yarlung Zangbo River tributary in Lang County, Linzhi City, and is a key project for upgrading the local transportation infrastructure during the 14th Five Year Plan period. The project survey and preliminary design period is a total of 50 calendar days, of which the survey phase lasts for 20 calendar days and requires the completion of core work such as terrain surveying, geological drilling, and hydrological investigation; The preliminary design phase lasts for 30 calendar days, with a focus on tackling technical challenges such as wind resistance, earthquake resistance, and frost resistance for high-altitude bridges. Considering the high altitude, variable climate, and fragile ecological environment of the project location, the technical solution of CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. fully integrates the concept of "ecological priority and technological adaptation": in the geological survey stage, a combination of drone surveying and precise drilling is adopted to reduce the damage to surface vegetation; In bridge design, durable materials suitable for high-altitude climate are selected, and the structural stress system is optimized to ensure that the designed service life of the bridge reaches the standard of 100 years.

This bid is another important breakthrough of CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. in the field of transportation infrastructure in Xizang plateau. The relevant person in charge of the company stated that they will take this project as an opportunity to fully leverage their technological accumulation and resource advantages, strictly promote the survey and design work in accordance with regulatory requirements, and focus on three core directions: first, accurately assess geological risks, construct three-dimensional geological models through multi-dimensional geological survey data, and provide scientific basis for bridge foundation design; The second is to strengthen ecological protection design, deeply integrate bridge site selection and structural layout with the surrounding natural environment, and avoid occupying ecologically sensitive areas; The third is to optimize the adaptability of construction, and the design scheme fully considers the limitations of high-altitude construction conditions, providing technical support for efficient construction in the subsequent EPC general contracting stage.

The relevant departments in Lang County, Linzhi City stated that the survey and design work of the Tabu Bridge is a key prerequisite for the project's implementation. The technical strength and project experience of CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. will provide strong guarantees for the engineering quality and construction efficiency. After the completion of the project, the breakpoint of the cross river channel in Lang County will be cleared, reducing regional commuting time by more than 40%. This is of great significance for improving the local transportation network, promoting the circulation of urban and rural factors, and assisting rural revitalization. At present, CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. has established an on-site working group and is expected to officially enter the project site to carry out survey work in the near future. Subsequently, the preliminary design, review and other related processes will be carried out according to the milestones.Editor/Bian Wenjun
