In the vast and magnificent northern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains, a winding road stretches through the towering mountains. This used to be an important passage of the ancient Silk Road. Nowadays, the builders of the G3033 Kuitun Dushanzi Kuche Expressway are continuing to write a new legend with modern engineering technology. Recently, the first batch of civil construction bidding for the G3033 Kuitun Dushanzi Kuche Expressway project has been successfully completed, with multiple well-known enterprises participating in the bidding. The final winning bid has been officially announced. As an important transportation project in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, this project has a total length of nearly 400 kilometers and will effectively promote regional economic development and transportation interconnection. The following is an overview of this bidding process and details of the winning bid.

1、 Project Overview and Bidding Content

The bidding project is located in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and has a grand scale. The starting point of this project is located in Kuitun East (about 2 kilometers east of the G30 Lianhuo Expressway Changjiang Road Interchange), connecting to the existing Lianhuo Expressway, and ending at Kuche East (about 2.5 kilometers east of the G3012 Tuhe Expressway Kuche Toll Station), connecting to the existing Tuhe Expressway, with a total length of 393.693 kilometers. The specific section division is as follows:

KDK-TJSG-10 section: The starting point is located in front of the Kuotan Aikuozi No. 2 Bridge, with a pile number of K363+520, and is laid southward along the Black Keken Valley of the Hutong. The Boluokezi extra long tunnel is set up to bypass the limestone mining area, with a final pile number of K375+210.251 and a length of about 11.690km. This section adopts the standard of a two-way four lane expressway, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour and a roadbed width of 26m, including 5 bridges with a total length of 1273m (including 4 large bridges with a length of 1177.5m and 1 medium bridge with a length of 95.5m) and 2 tunnels with a total length of 7045m (including 1 extra long tunnel with a length of 6676.5m and 1 short tunnel with a length of 368.5m).

KDK-TJSG-11 section: The starting point of the route is located in Boluokezi, Aga Township, Kuche City, and it connects to the end point of KDK-TJSG-10 section, with the endpoint marker K421+455.806. The total length of the construction drawing design route is 46.404km. The design speed of this section is 100km/h to 120km/h, and the roadbed width is 26.0m to 27.0m, including 2650m/21 bridges (including 7 large bridges of 2017m, 8 medium bridges of 479m, and 6 small bridges of 154m), 62 culverts, 1 separated overpass of 34m, 17 channels (bridges), 2 overpasses, 2 interchanges, 1 service area, 1 parking area, and 1 mainline toll station.

The bidding content and scope are divided into two sections: Section 1 (KDK-TJSG-10) covers roadbed engineering, pavement engineering, bridge and culvert engineering, tunnel engineering, and traffic safety facilities, etc; Section 2 (KDK-TJSG-11) covers roadbed engineering, pavement engineering, bridge and culvert engineering, route crossing engineering, management, maintenance, and service building engineering, as well as traffic safety facilities. KDK-TJSG-10 section:

First place: China Communications Construction First Engineering Group Co., Ltd., bidding price: 1793723568.00 yuan

Second place: China Communications Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd., bidding price: 1797231616.74 yuan

Third place: Xinjiang Beixin Road and Bridge Group Co., Ltd., bidding price: 1830506807.88 yuan

KDK-TJSG-11 section:

First place: Sichuan Highway and Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd., bidding price: 2249396143.57 yuan

Second place: China Communications Second Navigation Engineering Co., Ltd., bidding price: 2222267982.00 yuan

Third place: China Communications Construction Co., Ltd., bidding price: 221001283.07 yuan

The results of this bidding indicate that the G3033 Kuitun Dushanzi Kuche Expressway project has entered the substantive construction stage, which is expected to effectively promote the improvement of Xinjiang's transportation infrastructure and inject new impetus into regional economic integration.
