Recently, the bidding results of the Shanghai Songjiang Expressway Rapid Development Project (G60 Shanghai Kunming Expressway Shenjiahu Expressway) with a total investment of 13.59 billion yuan were officially announced. Shanghai Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Urban Construction Engineering School (Shanghai Landscape School), Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Urban Construction Design and Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. formed a consortium and joined hands with Shanghai Highway Bridge (Group) Co., Ltd. to successfully bid for the project, marking the official start of the construction preparation stage of this transportation artery that runs through the southwest area of Shanghai.

As a key project in Shanghai's "14th Five Year Plan" for comprehensive transportation development, the Shanghai Songjiang Expressway Rapid Development Project is a key passage connecting Songjiang New City, Minhang District, and the central urban area. It is also the core supporting project for the transportation of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. The total length of the project route is about 19.5 kilometers, starting from G60 Shanghai Kunming Expressway in the north and ending at Shenjiahu Expressway in the south, passing through areas such as Jiuliting Street, Xinqiao Street, Chedun Town, and Xinzhuang Town in Minhang. The entire line adopts a double-layer layout of "mainline expressway+ground main road": the mainline is designed with a speed of 80 kilometers and adopts the standard of a two-way 6-8 lane expressway; The ground road is designed with a speed of 50 kilometers per hour and is a two-way 6-lane main road. Non motorized vehicle lanes, sidewalks, and public transportation stations are synchronously constructed to achieve a three-dimensional traffic mode of separating fast and slow traffic and separating pedestrians and vehicles.

The construction content covers multiple fields such as roads, bridges, tunnels, transportation engineering, and supporting facilities, with numerous highlights and outstanding technical difficulties. The main line will construct 12 overpasses and 8 interchanges, including connecting interchanges with important transportation hubs such as G15 Shenhai Expressway and Jiamin Elevated Road, to achieve seamless integration with the regional road network; When passing through densely populated areas and ecologically sensitive zones, tunnels will be used for underpass. A total of three tunnels with a total length of approximately 4.2 kilometers will be planned and constructed to minimize the impact on the lives of surrounding residents and the ecological environment. During the construction process, the consortium will use advanced technologies such as prefabricated construction, BIM intelligent management, and green building materials application to focus on tackling technical difficulties such as soft soil foundation treatment, large-span bridge construction, and tunnel shield construction, ensuring project quality and construction safety. At the same time, strict implementation of environmental protection requirements such as dust prevention and control and noise control will be carried out to create a "green project" and "smart project".

After the completion of the project, it will completely rewrite the current situation of traffic congestion on the Shanghai Songjiang Highway, bringing significant traffic benefits and social value. The mainline expressway will shorten the travel time from Songjiang New City to the city center from the current 60-90 minutes to within 30 minutes, significantly improving regional commuting efficiency; Ground roads will optimize traffic microcirculation along the route, alleviate congestion pressure on local road sections, and are expected to increase daily traffic capacity by more than 60%. At the regional development level, the project will further strengthen the transportation linkage function of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, accelerate the flow of talents, funds, technology and other resource elements in Songjiang, Minhang and other regions, and assist in the implementation of the integrated development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta; At the same time, approximately 280000 square meters of ecological green landscape belts, 12 pocket parks, and convenient service facilities will be simultaneously built along the route to improve the quality of life of residents and promote the deep integration of transportation construction with urban renewal and ecological protection.

It is reported that the planned project duration is 48 months, and the preliminary procedures have been basically completed. The consortium is accelerating the preparation work of construction organization design, equipment procurement, personnel deployment, etc. It is expected to officially start construction within the year. Shanghai Construction Engineering and Shanghai Road and Bridge, as leading enterprises in Shanghai's infrastructure field, will work together to create high-quality and benchmark projects with rich experience in large-scale transportation engineering construction and strong technical strength. The implementation of this project is not only an important measure for Shanghai to improve its comprehensive transportation network, but also injects new momentum into the urban development of the southwest region and provides solid support for the integrated development of transportation in the Yangtze River Delta region.Editor/Bian Wenjun
