To accelerate the construction of a world-class intelligent transportation system, Abu Dhabi Transport Company ADT recently announced that it has launched a letter of intent solicitation for the LRT4 project of Light Rail Line 4 from global vehicle manufacturers and civil engineering contractors. This 19 kilometer light rail line will connect key hubs such as Zayed International Airport, Al Raha Beach, and Yas Island, becoming an important part of weaving Abu Dhabi's multimodal public transportation network.

According to the plan, LRT4 Line will establish 23 stations and build a brand new vehicle depot to accommodate the fleet. The project aims to significantly improve the efficiency of public transportation connectivity between the airport and coastal leisure areas and tourist hotspots, providing residents and tourists with greener and more convenient travel options.
This bidding adopts an integrated turnkey project model. The leading entity that wins the bid will be responsible for the entire chain of the LRT4 project, including design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and certification. The contract covers a wide range of civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, as well as the construction of stations, tracks, 25 light vehicles, and a complete railway system, including signaling, telecommunications, monitoring and data acquisition SCADA, power supply, and depot facilities.

It is reported that LRT4 line has also reserved plans for future extensions. In the subsequent stage, the plan is to further expand the route to Khalifa City and cover more destinations on Yas Island.
